So here it is - our first column at the Evening Times. Lynne and I can’t wait to share stories with you every Thursday about our weekly antics on Heart Scotland.

Honestly… it’s a big jump from presenting a radio show - this writing your thoughts down takes a bit of getting used to. Luckily Lynne and I have each other to proof read, something the City of Glasgow College could have done with recently. The signs on the new Cathedral Street campus accidentally said “Cathederal”. At least the sign maker is in the correct place to learn the correct spelling!

They say it’s always good to learn something new, although I must admit – now I’m not so sure! On drive time this week it was all about confessions and tales that people would rather keep swept under the carpet. I had to ask… what is the oldest thing you have eaten? To think, I once considered this a pretty innocent question until Lynne Hoggan came along. All I can say is no matter how bad a traffic jam on the M80 can get, please don’t be tempted by the four-day old chicken nuggets in the back of the car! Of course I would never suggest Lynne did such a thing…

If 4 day old M(80)ac Nuggets don’t get your taste buds tingling, every week we are celebrating the return of Bake Off by creating some celebrity faces through the art of cake decorating! Just imagine - marshmallows, chocolate buttons and icing… EVERYWHERE. The temptation is endless for poor Lynne who is currently on a strict post-pregnancy diet. Although on the plus side, a lot of love and effort has been put in to our celeb cakes so that’s where I come in! Don’t judge… it’d be shame to waste them right?

Glasgow Times:

Can you guess the Scottish celebrity?

To finish the week, I headed to Pedal for Scotland with the family. Well done to the thousands who took part for some incredible charities and completed the 45-mile journey from Glasgow to Edinburgh. A special mention must be given to the lady who took the challenge to a whole other level by attempting it on a unicycle! Word is she’s just passing Harthill now... hopefully she’ll get back in time for Bridget Jones landing in cinemas tomorrow! I must be the only one not looking forward to Bridget Jones arriving in cinemas, purely because Lynne has dared me to do the show in a pair of Bridget-style spanx. Girls, I’ll take this hit for the team!
