Hiya, it’s Laynn here!

Don’t worry…It’s not a typo.  This is what I go by now, thanks to the Barista in Starbucks the other day. So that’ll be a Skinny Latte, extra foam and added deed poll form on the side thanks.  As it turns out everyone at one stage or another had been through this.  After filling Paul in on the Heart Drive Show, well Facebook went a little mad with people confessing their coffee shop alter egos! We had Claire whose coffee christened her Lydia, Shona became Sheva, and Stacie, well Stacie mysteriously became Daisy!

I go by Laynn now

It’s been a busy week on and off the show… I got the keys and a walk through demo for my new house which included important things like turning the heating on, and, ohh, how to work a tap of course. The GBBO also revealed some big changes this week! Paul and I broke the news that Mel and Sue were leaving the GBBO on DATE. The changes with the show had us all asking a million questions, especially me. I also had Paul tortured, once again, sorry for that! Seriously though, what if Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood leave the show too? Then realistically all we are left with is a marquee…a nice marquee, don’t get me wrong but the show can’t focus solely on a really expensive tent! Even with the news we powered on and continued Paul and Lynne’s cake off this week and some of the guesses were priceless.  Batman and Robin, Zig & Zag (remember them from the Big Breakfast?) and my favourite guess of all - Gok Wan and Hazel Irvine! Why on earth would those two be together, on a cake? Somebody call GBBO… I’ve found their new presenting duo!

Glasgow Times:

Gok is that you?

After such a busy week of coffee, cake and…spanx? Friday was about one thing and one thing only…the new Bridget Jones movie!! Paul had joked a few weeks back about the famous Bridget-style spanx and apparently he could “totally pull them off”.

With the movie landing in cinemas, it was indeed the prime time to get some revenge! As a little treat for Paul, I brought in some spanx pants for him to wear throughout the entire show… just as a little taster of what us women go through!  So there we were, Paul channeling his inner Jones standing in spanx for our complete drive show -  definitely one of the strangest afternoons I’ve ever had since I’ve been on Heart Scotland!

Paul channeling his inner Bridget

After an hour Paul was complaining about how tight they are – eh, try wearing them on a night out, after a 3 course meal then on to dancing and drinks! As my granny used to say you’d ken all about it. Maybe someday he will, as the Spanx have never made an appearance since and I do see a slenderer Paul….
