The BBC Good Food Show took place at the SECC this weekend.

If you were one of the lucky few who tuned in last week to win yourself a free pair of tickets you were really in for a treat! I popped past with my wife Claire to watch on as Michel Roux Jr. effortlessly knocked up a pork and apple master piece and made it look oh so easy.

There were so many amazing Scottish things to eat and drink, plus the chance to meet the famous Kilmarnock Pie and try venison haggis! Lynne said she’d rather I’d bought her some gin, which there was no shortage of, but I kidded on of course that they were all sold out. Let’s hope she doesn’t take a little snoop at my column this week.

Paul with the Kilmarnock Pie. Have you ever seen a prouder Scottish Pie?

The inner kid in me was bursting with excitement this week. For the first time ever, WWE wrestling’s two main worldwide TV shows were taking place in our great city. Monday night RAW and SmackDown Live get a combined audience of 50 million people a week globally, numbers Lynne and I are obviously used to… Excitement began to grow on Monday morning as the WWE private jet was spotted parked at Glasgow Airport. Arguably one of the biggest show in sports entertainment was in town!

Of course events like this aren't possible without the SSE Hydro. World class venues attract world class events like Beyoncé, Justin Bieber and rather randomly wrestling. It really is something to be proud of.

I was lucky enough to meet superstars Randy Orton and Seth Rollins before their matches. Lynne wasn't that fussed when I told her, until she saw this picture of Seth… something tells me she might start to get in to wrestling now.

Paul with Seth Rollins – Meet the one and only reason Lynne may get in to wrestling…

The Glaswegian crowd turned up and provided an electric atmosphere and as always hilarious chants. There were full blown adults dressed as Hulk Hogan and Macho Man from the 90s. The best sign I saw directed at superstar Roman Reigns said "Roman sells Avon", something only Scottish humour can get! Plus, a segment of RAW was hijacked by fans as we sang a 10-minute version of DJ Otzi's "Hey Baby". Only in Glasgow!

Listen to Paul and Lynne’s new drive show on Heart Scotland 100-103Fm & DAB 4-7pm weekdays.
