So are you like me and putting ‘trampoline’ at the top of your list to Santa? I do this in the hope that I can look out one night and see a couple of foxes, a badger and a hedgehog having a wee shot on it. The new John Lewis advert is out – and as always every year, we wait in anticipation, watch it and have a tear in our eye or a smile on our face. Then it kicks in that Christmas is not too far away…Yay I love this time of the year!

On the show Paul and I talked about how we could do our own Christmas advert. Paul managed to find some soppy music…a sad sounding version of ‘Fast Car’, because you know that it always has to sound sad. I picked the character - a lonely Brussel sprout, that had fallen out of a shopping bag and was all alone. We then asked the listeners to get in touch and tell us the story for the advert and we had some crackers!

Leanne in Stirling texted in with her story – the sprout has to get across the M8 to the rest of the bag of sprouts on the other side – and it nearly gets knocked down.

This was nothing on Joanne from Baillieston - the sprout travels through the supermarket alone and sad until it starts seeing the other random Christmassy food alone. A carrot, potato, parsnip and pig ‘n’ bacon. Not to mention a single turkey and profiterole. They all became so happy and realised that together they can make a perfect Christmas dinner and that no-one should feel alone at Christmas. Awwwwww. Have a think, the song is a sad version of Fast Car by Tracy Chapman and the character is a Sprout...think of your own wee story!

The Mannequin challenge has been the big craze of the past week or so. Celebs like Adele, Britney Spears, and Kate Hudson have taken part. If you’re not familiar with this craze, it’s basically a challenge about keeping still whilst being filmed. Have you tried it yet? Paul and I had a little fun trying it but couldn’t keep still without bursting out laughing after 10 seconds. Whereas, Robin and Adele were a bit more mature, they got the staff at work involved and did their own video...See it here:

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much luck for Scotland last week. If you were a football widow like me then you maybe had a nice wee Friday night to yourself. My husband travelled to Wembley for the game and despite the score he had a great time with the lads. That’s what it’s all about. Rather than enjoying my empty (although it’s not really an empty now with two kids) I went out to a party and suffered all day Saturday! We say it every time but ‘never again’ – seriously, why do we do it?

Glasgow Times:

If you have digital radio you may have noticed our Heart extra station. Well, as of this weekend you may have noticed Heart extra Xmas? I have already been listening to it non-stop and I feel very festive! It’s good if you are organised and maybe wrapping presents already. Or if you just like to listen to Christmas music 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Perhaps you are already thinking about putting the tree up and you’re looking for the perfect

soundtrack then it’s great. However, just make sure you don’t forget about Paul and I... much better than all the best Christmas songs right?
