Hey, it’s Paul here.
What do you call a Glaswegian man out Christmas shopping this Saturday?
Doing what he's told...
There’s just three more sleeps till Santa, it’s time to panic! Not about presents or Sunday’s dinner though… this means we’re less than 72 hours away from the end of Christmas sandwiches for another year. Honestly, they are my favourite part of this time of year, apart from seeing relatives and getting presents of course! This week Lynne & I contacted the biggest shops across Scotland about making the Christmas sandwich a 365 day’s a year fixture on Glasgow sandwich shelves. The Co-op look’s most positive so far, but I ask you to join the campaign and tweet your support.
What’s a guy got to do for a Christmas Sandwich after December?
Over the Christmas period I’ve hosted some of the city’s biggest party nights at the Hilton on William Street. Thank you if you partied with me this month. We had so many great nights, but I’m sure the staff will all be glad that the Mariah CD is away for another year. People ask the DJ some hilarious stuff after a few sherbets. My top three questions this year were:
GOOD: Got any good Latin music mate?
BETTER: Can I sing live? I’m a singer and everyone will love me...
BEST: Play some Christmas music (during ‘Last Christmas’)
Town will be packed again tonight as work parties finish off. I think having your night out after finishing up would be a nightmare, worrying for two weeks if you told the boss what you really think of them? One night of “beer fear” is bad enough for me! The Heart Christmas party passed without any major embarrassment (we think), apart from the next day at the Chinese restaurant next to our studios. Lynne ordered so many munchies the manager had to bring out another table…
The Ultimate Lunch
Finally, good luck to anyone expecting a baby at the moment. My wife Claire and I are expecting our second any day now. Maybe we’ll see you in the Royal on Christmas Day? We have a list of lovely names with Christmas meaning just in case we go on the 25th. Ideas include Noel (In French, joyeux noel means “Merry Christmas”), Natalia (the original late Latin meaning of "Christmas Day”) and Hatchimal (Scottish word for something impossible to track down this week).
Here’s us squeezing all kinds of Christmas activity in to 12 seconds…have a lovely Christmas and New Year! Paul & Lynne x
