Sad change

REGARDING the article in Monday’s Evening Times about break-ins doubling in Govanhill.

Apparently some house breaking families are well known to police, but as they use under age family members, it’s hard for them to prosecute.

Govanhill born and bred, I’m so sad at the way it’s changed.

Booted out

IF Linfield Football Club and the Police Service of Northern Ireland cannot guarantee the safety of Celtic supporters for the possible clash in July, surely they should be booted out of the tournament?

Is safety not more important than ensuring that sectarian organisations always get their way by bullying and threatening behaviour?

This is 2017 or has someone forgot to tell these people that most decent people have moved on in life except for the overweight, football jersey specimens who continually make a fool of themselves?

Terrible events

WITH the terrible events of late there is no doubt that a lot of money will be required from the government.

My fear is that this government, to get the extra funds required, will make more cuts to the NHS, police and other services that we rely on.

Surely it is time the politicians of the UK started looking after the electorate they represent.

For the time being stop all foreign aid and other generous handouts and concentrate on the UK. Perhaps then we get a bit nearer “equality for all”

Truly rewarding

What a lovely idea to host a tea party for lonely OAPs.

The elderly are often lonely and feel isolated but are great company and a font of knowledge and memories of times past.

I’ve always had elderly neighbours and taken time to get to know them and assist when and wherever I can. It’s truly rewarding. Try it folks.

Spoil event

REGARDING the arrests after the Stone Roses gig at Hampden.

I’ll never understand these idiots that take smoke bombs to events like this. Should see you locked up for setting one off - certainly removed from the event. They are dangerous and spoil the event for the majority who can’t see anything because of them.
