• Who are you?

We are the beauty, brains and skill behind our brand Ginger&Lime Events, A.K.A Sophie Judah (Ginger) & Craig Anderson (Lime).

• What does your business do?

Ginger&Lime Events is an Event & Lifestyle design company, primarily we create bespoke design for the interior of weddings & events. We are sometimes found creating looks for everyday use as well. In-house we boast an Event Hire department with such items as high quality sequin linens & crystal candelabras; A Floristry department, creating lavish and stylish arrangements and our Design & Stylist service, which all of our clients take advantage of while working with Ginger&Lime.

• Where are you based?

We are based in the Southside of Glasgow and work from a workshop, we find most of the work we take-on requires us to travel around Scotland and we need close links to all the motorways. Our workshop is somewhat less glamorous than you’d imagine for being Event Designers & Stylists, but it’s operational facility is the most crucial element for us delivering on every occasion for our clients. We use this space for working on weddings and events, office admin and when we meet our clients we often meet at Hotel Indigo on Waterloo Street Glasgow or at The Balmoral in Edinburgh, they have began to feel like our secondary offices.

• How did you get started?

We created our brand Ginger&Lime after we had seen a lack of creative design and event hire businesses specialising within the weddings & Events Industry. We both feel that regardless of budget style can be achieve with just the perfect dose of creativity, which we now offer to all of our clients.

• What is your background

While studying a degree in Event Management together, we both acquired a wide range of skills, external education and experience from working within the wedding and events industry. Sophie’s career took her towards a sales and marketing background while managing large industry events across the UK. Craig has a varied background also, but found and developed his passion for design while working at reputable companies who specialise in Wedding and Events such as Angel Fish Management, Blue Parrot Events and Little Botanica. Together we merged our skills to create our brand; Ginger&Lime Events but making a stamp with our own designs and style.

• What is your top tip?

Always be fully prepared, but have contingency plans at the ready.

• Who was/is your mentor/or inspiration?

Through the years we have both had the privilege of having many mentors with a background in business on a close personal relationship, for example; Craig from a young age grew up in a business environment at home learning about business from his late father, he taught Craig everything he knew about business before his death, Sophie also grew and developed expertise in business at home from her many successful family members, for example Sophie’s eldest brother Laurence is always at the other end of the phone to give a helpful mentoring when needed. On a less personal basis, we both admire strong confident people who have worked hard to achieve everything they have built, even through the tough times, for example we both admire Martha Stewart for her creativity and also her determination within the business sector in creating a multi million dollar turnover internationally.

• Where do you plan your business to be in five years time?

In five years time we plan to be expanding our services across the UK, with opportunities to take our services more internationally.
