That's a wrap folks! Quicker than the speed of light, our filming series for River City is over once again. After six and a half years on the show, I am still always amazed at how quickly a 14 week block goes by.

We've had quite the series, momentous in many ways. Our Executive Producer Kathleen Hutchison was at the helm for the first time and has done a fantastic job. It can't be an easy role and I for one am glad to have you on board.

We gained lots of lovely new cast members and in turn lost a few favourites, it's the nature of the beast. As part of the Shieldinch fair, poor Zinnie was a victim of the car bomb explosion and meant we waved goodbye to the amazing Nalini Chetty. Robbie and Zinnie didn't always see eye to eye but I loved working with Nalini and she is already sorely missed. The announcement came last week that Paul James Corrigan, who plays Stevie Burns would be filming his last scenes this series too. Paul is a firm favourite in Shieldinch and I know that the fans won't be too happy. I've known Paul for years and years, we both worked together at the Citizens' Theatre in James and the Giant Peach when we were fresh from training. It's not easy to walk away from a job you love, regular income and go back to being a jobbing actor but Paul is one talented boy. All the best to you pal, I know the future will be bright for you. Gaun yersel son!

Glasgow Times:

School may be out for the winter in TV land but most of us have gone straight into Pantoland. No rest for the wicked, I am doing Santa Claus is coming to Town at the Pavilion Theatre. For the next two months, I'll be strutting my stuff in high heels, Lycra body stocking and fake boobs as Nanny "Nae" Nonsense.

I'm being joined by a few familiar faces too. Stephen Purdon and Leah MacRae, River City's love birds Bob and Ellie are with me this year. After a few weeks of intense rehearsals, we open tonight for our first preview. I always get nervous at the beginning of the run - Panto is my only real chance to do live theatre throughout the year but I love it. Filming allows you to stop and go again whereas once the show starts, it just keeps going! The audience participation is so much fun and keeps you on your toes each show.

Glasgow Times:

The rest of our cast are amazing and I'm having so much fun working with them. Johnny Mac is an absolute wonder to watch onstage, everyone adores him and it's a total joy to be working with him again this year. Pavilion favourites, Dean Park and Nicola Park (No, they're not related!) are back to wow the audiences and my good pals Michele Gallagher and Tyler Collins complete the line up. I've got a huge stash of throat lozenges at the ready, plenty of fruit for between shows and sudocrem for my well shaved face - come on Panto season 2015/16, let's be having you! Good luck to all of my acting chums who are performing throughout Scotland this Christmas. See you all in January when we are pure skinny and in dire need of a holiday!
