As the last few days of 2015 draw to a close, we enter a period of reflection. Did we stick to our resolutions? Remember them? The promises we make at the beginning of the year and vow will come true. I said I'd get a six pack...yes, you got it in one, the closet I got to that was a deal on beer in Tesco. Do you know what though? I don't even care. I am finding that the older I get, the less bothered I am with being perfect or trying to fit in. Sure, working out to stay healthy and balance out the wine consumption is one thing, but I am done with trying to be an Adonis - I'll settle for being dead funny and ordering desserts thank you very much. This end of the year is a bit cathartic, out with the old and in with the new. Bring it on.

Glasgow Times:

I've had a fantastic year and want to do a recap on all of my amazing moments in 2015 before we shake hands and bid one another farewell. I started my year on the open road, as a final 30th birthday treat. I booked a six week trip that took me to Perth, Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, then came home via Los Angeles and New York. Travel is so important to me and always at the top of my list of things to do. I love packing up and going off on an adventure. My best pal Natalie lives in Perth, so to start the year having a carry on with her in Oz set the tone for the rest of the year. We laughed, danced, kicked our height all over the outback and it made me so happy. Adventures bring freedom and spontaneity that we don't often get in our everyday lives and I thank my lucky stars every time I get to go on an adventure. 37 days, 9 cities and 25, 337 miles travelled. I had no liver left, but came home with my soul thoroughly nourished.

Landing this column is a total highlight for me - I am thrilled to be able to share what I get up to each week with you all and I have complete freedom by the team at the Evening Times, thank you all for your support. I can't do a year in review and not mention my main man! Paolo Nutini has had a cracking year touring the amazing Caustic Love album and yours truly has been in his company a fair few times in 2015. The after party in Dublin at Marlay Park was pretty surreal, his mammy and my new BFF, Linda clocked me right away because she watches River City! Life. Made.

Glasgow Times:

Speaking of River City, I am now onto my seventh year of playing the bold Robbie Fraser and it's just getting better and better. The show has new producers and obviously we've had to say sad goodbyes to friends and colleagues - Scott Vickers and I worked so closely during his time on the show and he is greatly missed. The change of hands has brought new cast members which is really lovely too. We have a fresh energy at work and I've made great new pals - Dawn Steele is never out of this column when she's in town!

Glasgow Times:

Despite 2015 being an epic fail on the award front for the Lamont family, a big highlight for us was my mum being nominated as a Great Scot Community Champion. Yes, she went home empty handed and brought shame on the household, but we all got dolled up to the nines and had a ball at the event. My mum works tirelessly at the Jeely Piece Club in Castlemilk and we love her, with or without accolades!

So that's it for me in 2015 dolls. Thank you for reading all about my antics each week and I hope I've brought a wee smile to your week at the very least. Say cheerio to the old year and open your arms and hearts to all that 2016 has to offer. Happy New Year to you from me! Let's make it an absolute belter!
