WELL folks we’re nearly there, it's nearly over, we’ve almost made it to the end of January and I don't know about you but I can't wait to greet February with big sloppy kisses and open arms.

On saying that though, I've had a truly lovely week presenting the Music Match on BBC Radio Scotland,

attending a beautiful Burns Supper at the Conforti Centre in Coatbridge and of course performing at The Gay Ball at The Hilton Hotel on Monday evening.

The event was once again a rip roaring success with 600 guests in attendance and thousands of pounds raised for charity.

Robert and May Miller along with Mark Swift and all the team outdid themselves once again and

deserve all the praise they receive.

I didn't think my week could get much better until I saw the news that diet guru Gillian McKeith was entering the Big Brother House.

Now I'm sure most of you who read my column on a regular basis will be aware of my history with Ms McKeith, but for those of you who aren't, allow me to put you in the picture.

11years ago my weight had ballooned to 23 stone and I finally decided enough was enough so I embarked on a weight loss journey and signed up for a TV show called You Are What You a Eat, on Channel 4 which involved giving up any food that tasted good and replacing it with bland old quinoa, abstaining from alcohol for a full year and working one on one with the infamous Gillian, so you can imagine my mental health state during that period.

Now to give the woman her due I dropped 10 stone in just under a year although she must have really

disliked me as she only went and sent five of it back in the post, but hey who's counting.

I know first hand what it feels like to have the Internet Doctor breathing down your neck and taunting you with her wee tupperware dish (no need to go over what that was for again) so trust me there could have been no better form of torture to inflict on those housemates whose antics have shocked and stunned us over the past few weeks, well not unless you made them sit down and watch their antics back on screen for themselves.

Yes Gillan is absolutely the perfect shout to inflict misery and suffering on those celebs although I'm slightly shocked Gillian has agreed to appear on any sort of tv reality show again after her humiliating behaviour in the jungle with Ant and Dec a few years ago.

I remember it vividly, sitting on my sofa one cold November evening, wearing a Primark onesie and munching into a Singapore Chow Mein, no prawns, when who’s wee coupon should pop up in the Jungle but one Ms McKeith.

Well I was so excited I nearly dropped my fork.

You see the thought of her being force fed bugs and other animal parts was just too good to be true after she’d spent months making me eat and drink a whole host of disgusting potions.

Ah those poor people in that Big Brother House are in for a world of pain over the next few days which I'm sure viewers will very much enjoy.

If the words colonic irrigation get mentioned though, be afraid, be very afraid.

On Monday I begin my rehearsals for the sold out run of The Vagina Monologues performing all over the city throughout the month of February.

I'm starring alongside my great friends May Miller and Cat Harvey and the show is being directed by the superbly talented Liam Dolan.

I'm also going to be performing my hit one woman show Michelle McManus’ Reality: The Musical

for one night only at The Corran Halls in Oban on Friday February 26 at 8pm.

It's a charity evening so every single penny raised on the night will go straight to HCPT Scotland Group 43

and at only £10 per ticket how can you refuse.

For tickets and more information you can contact, The Corran Halls direct on 01631567333 and for more information about the charity just log on to www.hcpt.org.uk

I'm a little late to the Black Dove party but if you are looking for an incredible dining experience then I can't recommend this place enough.

As a very proud southside resident, Black Dove in Shawlands truly is as good as it gets.

I went for a meal on Saturday evening and the food, service and atmosphere were all simply top class. Thank you so much to Chris and his team for a fantastic evening.
