Howdy Y'all! My first week in Tinseltown has gone by in a flash. We have done so much already and set up home in our lovely wee apartment.

Incase you're not in the know, LA is a driving town - everyone has a car, things are so spread out and hardly anyone walks. The girls and I thought long and hard about it, but ultimately, we needed to rent a car.

Yours truly was first up and believe me when I tell you that it was a white knuckle ride. Everything about it is different; the roads, the positioning and the fact that it's an automatic. My wee left leg was going like this clappers looking for a clutch.

Glasgow Times:

My first order of business was to get us up to Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills for a hike (Yes, we pure hike now!) I couldn't believe the amount of nutters who actually run it - I know it sounds daft but this isn't a wimpy wee hill we're talking about here. It's the real deal.

There we were, eating a packed lunch at the top of it and all of LA's finest were running and jogging in the blazing heat - it was taps aff as far as the eye could see. The sweaty torsos didn't distract from the view at the top though, LA is spread out beneath you and the Hollywood sign is glistening away in the distance. Magic.

It's been a hive of activity for us over here, a working holiday if you will. Any actor in this town takes class, they're aw mental for the acting and showbusiness. When I first visited a few years ago, I was a bit intimidated. Everyone is in the biz, they all are dying to get that big break and all I wanted to do was take a nap. I figured that this time around, if you can't beat em, join em. I've been down to a place called The Actors Key, it runs workshops for actors to meet and get advice from industry professionals. I loved and loathed it in equal measure; it is a wonderful facility that provides a platform for learning and being creative, but on the other hand - it's full of bloody actors.

Glasgow Times:

One lassie had booked herself into every class going on the night I went, all I could hear was her name being called out from each room as she scuttled up and down stairs between workshops. I was exhausted watching her! It's been 10 years since I graduated from drama school and actors to me are still a complete anomaly. Ricky Gervais hit the nail on the head with Extras a few years ago, I think I'll pen a new series about actors waiting to go into an audition; even more so in Hollywood. Crazy town. Good crazy though! I also managed to squeeze in my first epic sunset down at Venice Beach, I wandered the beach front, got a massage and very happily took advantage of the happy hour as the sun sank into the Pacific Ocean. It's not a bad life, eh?
