Re: Poor condition of Glasgow roads and pavements - potholes, uneven pavements, extra high kerbs, steep cambers, loose chipping and sunken manhole covers.

I'm a wheelchair user and I'm finding it harder to use my wheelchair safely outdoors due to all of the above.

It is only a matter of time before a serious injury occurs.

What is wrong with Glasgow City Council?

They say they can't repair the potholes if they don't know they are there yet I've reported potholes and they are still not repaired.

Glasgow City Council should be ashamed of themselves as they are spending money on beautiful flower troughs and displays and our roads are like that of a third world country.

Yes I think the floral displays are beautiful but they bring to mind a old Glaswegians saying "fur coat but nae knickers".

Glasgow city council should really rethink the budgets and allocate more money and manpower to get Glasgow's roads up to acceptable standard and then they can buy as many daffodils as they want.

Stop the "junket trips"

Upon reading, and listening to the media regarding the heavy cuts about to be imposed on us by Glasgow council, I wonder if these severe cut backs will also apply to the junket trips taken by many of the councillors - not even just one or two, but it seems like we pay for a troupe of them.

In these days of technology, surely they can employ the use of Skype or indulge in conference calls when they wish to enquire about the benefits that could be gained from other nations experience, in whatever scheme our city father’s are planning, to the long term and betterment of our city. I am all for whatever proposals they wish to adapt for the benefit and perfection and enhancement of our city, but not at the exceptionally high cost of their trips.

Community garden plan is a "stalling tactic"

Regarding the story about a residents fighting a housing development in Park Quadrant lodging a competing planning application for a community garden:

This is the same group that criticise a high quality proposal due to lack of quality, detail etc.

Where is the detail here? No money.

Hoping to get funding from lottery - aye right you and hundreds of other of much more worthy applications.

Clear stalling and delaying tactic. Will never deliver. Glasgow City Council should chuck it out.
