IT'S not every day a gal can say she’s had a lie down in a dark room with Outlander star Sam Heughan.

In the wee small hours of Saturday, much to the envy of Heughligans everywhere, I had the pleasure of exactly that – along with several hundred other lucky peeps.

We were told to get comfy in the dark by none other than Jarvis Cocker and Steve Mackey of Pulp fame who were holding a very special music mediation class.

Jarvis told us in his dulcet tones all about the history of BPMs (beats per minute) and revealed unusual facts, including how the Bee Gees hit Staying Alive was written to the rhythm of our heartbeat.

His appearance at SWG3 event venue marked Glasgow International festival’s opening party with more than 1200 art lovers, artists and revellers.

It was a really odd experience sitting on a dance floor but I loved getting down in the dark with other clubbing pioneers and adventurers, including Kelly Cooper Barr, her former hubby Colin Barr and their DJ son Joshua, as well as my blogger friends Everyday Man John Robertson and his model friend Jonny Healy – the face of Glen’s vodka.

Lovely Sam told me afterwards that he really enjoyed his rare night off after an intense filming schedule and couldn’t wait to take part in some Scottish marathons in coming months.

Designer Pam Hogg was there and Buffalo Stance singer Neneh Cherry and her hubby also turned up a few days in advance of their daughter Mabel playing the 02 Academy on Monday.

After dancing energetically with his enthusiastic audience, Jarvis told me afterwards in the car park that he was shattered and heading for a lie down.

Noel limit

I was slightly lost for words when I caught a chirpy Noel Gallagher after his gig at the SSE Hydro yesterday morning at 12.30am.

Although I’ve met him numerous times on red carpets in the past in London and Glasgow, it’s always a thrill to catch the rock ’n’ roll legend when he’s in town.

This time I managed to nab him just as he exited his chauffeur-driven people carrier and was heading into the Blythswood Square Hotel, complete with glass of vino in hand.

As I filmed our meet for my blog, he asked me in his cheeky chappy way when I was getting a real job.

I told him in true Oasis fashion that, definitely, maybe, singing isn’t exactly a real job either.

As the banter flowed and I told him I thought he was great, good ole Noel told me unabashedly that a lot of people think the same.

Asked if anyone ever told him he wasn’t, he replied: “Well they never live to tell the tale.”

Noel happily signed autographs and took pictures with a handful of freezing cold fans outside the hotel.

Put a bling on it

Rox jewellers hosted a blingtastic party for the launch of its new Rox Woman and Spring Summer magazines on Tuesday night.

The jewellery company and Flat White Communications invited bloggers including Forever Yours Betty and Honey Pop Kisses to their thrill room for the event.

Glasgow based fashion stylists and art directors I’ll Be Your Mirror created the content and unique look of the magazine.

Actor Atta Yaqub and beltmaker Christian MacLeod also mingled with owners Kyron Keogh and Grant Mitchell in the plush room above the shop.

The Argyll Arcade company is looking at designing a new Royal Wedding accessory after its last Royal Rock sold within a week of being made.

It was a £10,000 sparkler based on Meghan Markle’s engagement ring. It is eagerly awaiting to see what Harry and Meghan come up with for the wedding.

Roar

Inverness beltmaker Christian Macleod is about to celebrate ten years of being in business. He revealed to me that no matter how many colours he offers people, they still opt for traditional black. With that in mind, he’s working on a very special new design to try and change people’s perceptions. Watch this space in July.

Running mates

Celebs are like buses...I couldn’t believe it when I bumped into Saturdays singer Rochelle Hughes and her JLS singer hubby Marvin as I waited for Noel G.

The glam pair arrived outside the hotel in a blacked-out vehicle and told me they were secretly recording a show at the BBC.

Rochelle had just completed her first London Marathon in just five hours and Marvin was happy to spend some chill time with her in between their busy schedules.

High roller

I attended the Nevada tourism breakfast at Blythswood hotel and despite being fed pancakes and rolls, was told that cowboys like a breakfast of eggs, bacon, and sausage.

Sounds similar to a Scottish breakfast to me.

The tourist board of Nevada are currently promoting other attractions outwith Vegas including 130 golf courses, 600 ghost towns and cowboy experiences that will take you back in time.

The campaign is entitled Don’t Fence Me In and it aims to take tourists further than the Las Vegas strip.

I went on the telly this week to chat about influencers according to Time Magazine’s latest hot 100 list.

As I got ready for STV’s Scotland Tonight, drummer Derek McKee dared me on Facebook to fit any Oasis song title into the live TV chat.

I managed to intro a sentence with Some Might Say... and he says he’ll now donate £50 to the Beatson charity.

Interestingly, the youngest on the list was 14-year-old Millie Bobby Brown, the actress from Stranger Things.

Weirdly just the next night I was watching her boyfriend – who is just 15 – perform as support to The Vamps at the Hydro along with New Hope Club who I met up with last week.
