LEGENDARY Lisbon Lion Jim Craig told me he got embarrassed when he recently went shopping in Aldi with his wife Elizabeth.
Jim, who claims he’s more a leg-end than a legend, said: “She’s just had a knee op so was using the trolley for support as she walked around, but everyone was looking at me as we walked by as if to say, ‘What a lazy big f*****, letting your wife push the trolley with her bad leg.”
I said to her when we got back the next time I’ll wear a placard round my neck with the message ‘She WANTS to push the trolley.”
I caught up with Jim who told me some X-rated stories about Celtic’s 1967 European Cup win at Rox jewellers for the super-cool launch of new limited edition Glenfarclas Single Malt whisky, which is now available from House of Fraser for a whopping £5,000 a bottle.
We were given a tipple of the stuff on the night and the conversation ran very smoothly.
Ex Celtic WAG Lisa Hague was also at the glitzy bash, alongside sports pundit turned Celtic TV man Gerry McCulloch.
But the main attraction was the European Cup, still the item everyone wanted to be pictured with.
