Sophia made a big splash this week when I took her swimming.

With mum at work I felt like a change of scenery from the usual play park or soft play visit, so decided to head to the pool.

It was only the second time she had been swimming due to a mixture of colds and eczema, so I was slightly nervous about how she would react.

Thankfully she was in a cheeky mood and was enjoying looking at all the new sights as we arrived at our local leisure centre.

Visitors of all ages were in attendance at the pool and Sophia made sure she had a good look at all of them.

It was certainly a bit of a juggling act taking my little one swimming on my own.

As Sophia doesn't like staying still at the best of times, I was making a meal of things as I attempted to get our bags in a locker and ensure she was in her swimming gear.

With the noise of happy youngsters, she was easily distracted and finally gave me a few seconds of her time to ensure she was ready for swimming.

As we went into the water, Sophia started to giggle as she noticed small fountains at the side of the pool.

We went over to the edge and her hands were quickly going in and out of a stream of water arching into the pool.

The noise of other tots in the pool caught Sophia's eye as she arched her neck frequently to see what else was going on around her.

A morning trip to the swimming appeared to be a popular choice for several new mums and dads, and it was easy to see why.

Splashing was next on little buddha's must-do list before again being distracted by the sound of loud music.

A water aerobics class was about to begin, leaving Sophia confused by the amount of heads and arms swaying in the air over in the big pool.

That was our signal to go, and attempt to dry off and change my little one before a tantrum!

After finally getting our bags out of the lockers I managed to get Sophia ready to go home.

Judging by the splashing I don't think bath time will ever be the same again!
