IT seemed to take forever as Sophia verged towards her first step.
Occasionally falling over as she scampers round our living room and in the kitchen.
Climbing on to the couch is no problem either as she attempts to take her mum's smartphone out of her hand...again!
Throw in a couple of balloons and high-pitched screams of delight, which are heard throughout the house as she casually wanders about.
There's no escape for our cat either as Sophia struts towards her.
But our patient cat has to watch out when our little one has the odd stumble.
Sophia has also worked out where her party bubbles are kept in the house and is now opening the cupdoor door and demanding I blow bubbles for her.
The speed she can climb the stairs has also increased rapidly - ensuring I have to be quickly behind her in case of any slips.
Climbing up the slide in the playpark with her new found sense of mobility is also a favourite activity for Sophia now.
Our little one's acceleration from crawling to walking has made her adamant that she now doesn't want to be carted about in the pram when she can instead explore herself.
Thankfully she has comfy little shoes to wear when she decides to make a run for it!
However, I was the one that felt like making a sharp exit when we went and bought Sophia's first pair of trainers.
I thought that small shoes would mean small prices...unfortunately it doesn't quite work like that.
One small step for Sophia...and one big step to emptying dad's wallet!
