2 Muirfield: The Open Championship course at Gullane, East Lothian, was the only other Scottish host, in 1973.
3 The Belfry: The Warwickshire course hosted the event fourn times between 1985 and 2002.
4 Royal Lytham & St Annes: The course in Lancashire hosted the event twice, in 1961 and 1977.
5 K Club:
Ian Woosnam's Europe team won the only time the event was held in Ireland in 2006.
6 Celtic Manor: The last time the competition was held two years ago, in Newport, Wales.
7 Royal Birkdale:
The course, in Southport, hosted the event twice, in 1965 and 1969.
8 Moortown: The course near Leeds was host for the first event top be held on UK soil, in 1929.
9 Wentworth: A team led by ther legendary Henry Cotton lost out at the Surrey course in 1953.
10 Walton Heath:
Another clebrated Surrey course, it hosted the contest in 1981.
