Can I just start by saying a massive thank you to each and every one of you who read my column debut last week

I was completely blown away by the tweets, texts and well wishes. My favourite being "I loved it! Did you learn to write like that up in Castlemilk?" Aye, I did!

I went for a celebratory lunch at The 78 in Finnieston since it was my day off. Vegan quesadillas and a large fresh lime and soda if you please. I was on such a high I traipsed off to the gym for a work out and swam a mile in the pool. My promise of athleticism wasn't just a self fulfilled prophecy! Ha! Fooled you for a second there, eh? I did do all of the aforementioned, but after that amount of healthy exertion, I went to my pal Donna's to scoff a Chinese takeaway and slugged a bottle of red wine. To me and my boozehound pals, that's a proper celebration! Everything in moderation; including moderation is my motto dolls.

I simply couldn't not mention the tragic passing of Scottish Filmaker, Ryan McHenry. I was fortunate enough to have met Ryan several times; his girlfriend Joannne McGuinness is a friend of mine. He became an overnight internet sensation with his hilarious vine "Ryan Gosling won't eat his cereal." Ryan and Joanne literally woke up one morning to discover that the video had gone viral, it caught the attention of the world and quite rightly so.

In 2013, Ryan was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, he started treatment and fought courageously for two years. Throughout his battle, Joanne, 26, never left his side and not once did I see her without a smile on her face. Their approach to it all was so dignified, positive and most importantly, they never lost their sense of humour - Ryan was tweeting just two days before he died: "Yesterday was my 10,000th day alive on this Earth and not one of you got me a card or anything..."

The reaction to his passing away at only 27-years-old was met with a global response, Vanity Fair, Empire magazine and Ellen DeGeneres all paid tribute, but none was more apt than from Ryan Gosling himself. The Hollywood actor posted a vine of him finally eating his cereal and tweeted "Feel very lucky to have been part of his life in some small way."

Ryan's funeral was held in his hometown of Dumfries, my sympathies go out to his family and friends, he will be sorely missed.

To my darling Joanne, you are an angel. I am utterly heartbroken for you. Please to continue to smile hen. You are a total credit to Ryan and his memory will forever live on through you.
