IN a few days you will have a vote in the most important General Election for a generation.

We all have a choice.

We can choose five more years of the Tories and all the pain and damage they will cause to families and communities in Glasgow.

Or we can choose a better way with a Labour Government.

6500 young people in Glasgow with a guarantee of a job or apprenticeship, paid for by a bankers bonus tax, which only a Labour Government will deliver.

1000 more nurses and 500 more GPs for Scotland's NHS, paid for by a Mansion Tax, which only a Labour Government will deliver.

An energy price freeze, cutting costs for hard pressed household budgets, which only a Labour Government will deliver.

And an £8 minimum wage and a ban on exploitative zero-hours contracts, which only a Labour Government will deliver.

These policies will not happen by accident.

They can only happen if we elect a Labour Government and we can only have a Labour Government if we elect enough Labour MPs across Scotland and across the UK.

Others suggest you can still get a Labour Government by voting Green in England or Plaid Cymru in Wales or even the SNP in Scotland. That is nonsense and insulting to voters.

It's clear, you can only get rid of the Tories and elect a Labour Government by voting Labour.

And when you go to the polls be in no doubt what it means if Scotland elects lots of SNP MPs.

David Cameron will cheer every Labour loss in Scotland just as much as he will cheer a Tory victory in England.

Because he knows, we all know, fewer Labour MPs makes it more likely the Tories will win.

Last week the Scottish Sun newspaper said vote SNP.

In England the same newspaper said vote Tory to stop the SNP.

Why? Because Rupert Murdoch knows a good night for the SNP means a great night for the Tories.

But a good night for the SNP means something else too.

It means a re-run of the referendum just as quickly as they think they can get away with it.

Their candidates all say it in private, some of them are even saying it in public.

An SNP victory will be a green light for a second referendum.

Even Nicola Sturgeon, who isn't standing in this election, hasn't ruled it out.

So in a few days you have a choice, another Tory Government and another referendum or a fairer economy, more jobs, better pay and a protected NHS with Labour.

And despite only being a few days away from polling day hardly anyone I meet knows the name of the SNP candidate.

On polling day I urge you to vote for a champion for Glasgow, someone who will always put Glasgow first and vote Labour.
