€¢ Who are you?

My name is Stefanie Roberts and my business is called 'SUGAR-DIET'.

€¢ What does your business do?

SUGAR-DIET focuses on providing people with a healthy well balanced diet. We do this by reducing the amount of sugar and processed foods that our customers eat by providing them with personalised and individual recipes catered to their likes, dislikes and goals. These recipes contain all real foods - there is no 'juicing' and all ingredients can be purchased from local supermarkets. Our customers work with their own online personal trainer to ensure they receive enough support and motivation throughout their entire journey. SUGAR-DIET's results are sustainable as every single week the customers are allowed a controlled 'cheat' meal such as chocolate, wine or pizza and are given free aftercare once completed.

€¢ Where are you based?

I live in Glasgow but as my business is online I am able to help people from all over the world.

€¢ What is your background and how did you get started?

I have always worked in the health and fitness industry. Over the last two years I worked for Stirling University coaching, training, and teaching a range of fitness classes whilst undertaking my MSc. During that time I obtained a severe sporting injury and was now unable to help people in the same way that I had previously enjoyed.

I thought there would be people like me all over the world who want help, support and advice but they might not be able to afford a personal trainer at the gym or perhaps they don't have the time due to their busy schedule. I was determined to make a difference; I wanted to create an affordable but specialised weight loss programme to help people lose weight as well as feeling happier and more confident.

The programmes that I have created are individually tailored towards their lifestyle. Every single customer is unique therefore I felt it was crucial to provide personalised programmes which were suitable for their lifestyle as well as their likes, dislikes and goals. I felt the support from a personal trainer was important along with free after care as weight loss can be a challenging and mentally torturing therefore it is crucial that you have a strong support network around you during this time.

€¢ What is your top tip?

Never give up; if you believe it, you can achieve it.

€¢ How long has your business been running?

My business started in December 2014.

€¢ Has anyone helped you get started and how?

The team at The Prince's Trust and Business Gateway have been brilliant! They both helped me to secure the funding that I needed to get started which was fantastic!

The support I have received from my family and friends has also been amazing.

€¢ Who was/is your mentor/or inspiration?

My family inspire me; I use them as my motive to continue making a life for myself by doing what I love! They are truly an incredible bunch!

€¢ Where do you plan your business to be in five years time?

In five years' time I would like to have expanded the business not only across the UK but into America. I would also like to have my business integrated into a bigger gym.

I know that it's going to take a lot of hard work nothing worthwhile in life comes easy so I am ready for it. I love helping people; if I am able to help more people to become happier with their weight and themselves then I will be pleased.
