TONIGHT the fourth annual STV Appeal show will be beamed across Scotland for almost three hours highlighting all the ways that millions of you have been fundraising over the past few months to try to eradicate the horrific reality that one in five children in this country lives in poverty.

The show as always will be hosted by the Queen of daytime television, Lorraine Kelly, who this year is celebrating 30 wonderful years in the business, and I'm delighted to say that I'll be back for to co-host from STV HQ, along with lots more famous faces.

I am in charge of the live music stage in Glasgow and also will have the pleasure of interviewing some of the inspiring people who have been running, cycling, hosting tea parties and taking part in other events, all in aid of raising money.

The charity is extremely close to my heart - I have been involved since we launched the big live show back in 2011, and was given the honour of co-writing and performing the official STV Appeal single Take You There, alongside the unbelievably talented Mànran boys and Scottish music legend Phil Cunningham. It was released on iTunes, with every penny going to the charity.

It's still used as the title tune on all of the Appeal programmes, so to say I'm extremely proud of that project would be an understatement.

During that time I've had the heartache of witnessing first hand the unimaginable circumstances some children have to live in and the joy of seeing the difference that the money received from fundraising and pledges on the night make to these children. It really is truly life changing.

In just three years, the STV Appeal has raised more than £5.6million, making 198 grants to projects across all 32 local authority areas in Scotland, providing much-needed support to more than 29,000 children, not to mention the fact that for the past three years the Scottish Government has match-funded the monies raised by the Appeal, and has again pledged to match-fund up to £1m after we reveal our grand total raised by the end of tonight's show.

Over the past few years we have had the lovely Sean Batty and Jock the Dog travell-ing all over the country raising funds, we have had thous-ands of people dancing their socks off at our 12-hour dance marathons, alongside comedian Bruce Devlin and Coronation Street's John Michie and not forgetting the lovely and extremely talented Pamela Stephenson.

We were all gobsmacked though when Pamela's husband the Big Yin himself, Billy Connolly, turned up at the ninth hour, causing hysteria among our dancers -but he was exactly what the doctor ordered for our weary participants. He was so fantastic, really lifting their spirits and even got involved in a dance or two.

I was one of the lucky ones who got a picture with Billy so naturally my life is now complete, all thanks to the Appeal.

Tonight is set to be another fantastic evening of live music, celebrity interviews, heart-wrenching real life stories and no doubt lots of tears but most importantly let's make sure it's a night were we raise lots of money and hopefully move one step closer to ensuring that no child in this country has to endure living and growing up in poverty.

I WAS walking through St Enoch's Centre in Glasgow yesterday when I spotted Evening Times banners and a queue of people holding an array of the most beautiful babies you have ever seen when it dawned on me that it must be Times Tots week again.

Since my nephew Sam came into my life seven months ago, I've turned into one of those barking mad aunties that has a phone full of adorable baby pictures with which I just love to bore anyone who will listen.

And don't get me started on Baby TV.

I'm seriously considering adding Charlie and The Numbers song to my live performance set list.

Good luck to all the babies entering Times Tots this week.

I can't wait to see all those adorable little faces in the Times Tots pull out.
