Justin Eade, Creative Director & Digital Health Innovator at Glimpse Ltd

WHAT does your business do?

Glimpse is developing cloud based, gesture technology systems that help people improve their health and wellbeing.

WHERE are you based?

Glimpse is based in the Hub at Pacific Quay in Glasgow along with the GSA and Interactive Scotland, and we have additional support from Digital Enterprise Glasgow.

HOW did you get started?

I began working 25 years ago creating infographics for my father's world aid report before starting work at MTV Europe in 1990.

WHAT is your background?

I have more than 20 years experience in both media production, to the highest standards for international broadcast, and preventative health and wellbeing practices.

WHAT is your top tip?

Become the expert in your own health and wellbeing.

HAS anyone helped you get started and how?

We've had great support from Interactive Scotland, DEG, Informatics Ventures and Scottish Enterprise.

WHAT was your biggest mistake/or what would you do differently?

Even though I have gained a wealth of experience working with dozens of fantastic organisations around the world

I have at times underestimated this experience. I think it's because I started working when I was young rather than going to university.

WHO was/is your mentor/or inspiration?

My parents were both excellent mentors. I have a very creative mother who worked for the NHS and my father was a marketing manager who developed many successful brands which are still out in the world 45 years later.

WHERE do you plan your business to be in five years time?

I SEE a transformation in health, wellbeing and healthcare - with help from digital technologies, international resources and knowledge plus some remarkable science.

I believe these developments are creating an extraordinary opportunity for improved public health, and I plan for our small part in this to be in mainstream use within a few years' time.
