LAST week George Osborne delivered the final Tory budget before the General Election.

What Glasgow needed was a budget for jobs, a budget for workers and pensioners and a budget for the NHS.

What we got was the same old Tory rhetoric and a budget for the few and not the many.

Despite all that is happening in the NHS, not a penny more and only one mention.

A shocking omission that lays bare exactly how the Tories view the National Health Service.

That is why Labour will deliver an extra 1000 nurses for Scotland's hospitals, paid for out of a UK wide mansion tax.

Labour called on the chancellor to make this a budget for jobs and a budget for workers.

Labour calls for an £8 minimum wage and a jobs guarantee for every young person in Glasgow fell on deaf Tory ears.

We know that when working people succeed, Scotland succeeds.

That is why the next Labour Government will deliver an increased minimum wage of £8 per hour and a guarantee of a job, training or apprenticeship for every young person in Glasgow, paid for by a bankers bonus tax.

Glasgow's young people deserve the chance of a secure job with decent pay.

But the Tories are failing Glasgow and failing Glasgow's young people.

And Labour called on the Government to deliver a fairer economy.

Scottish Labour will put an end to Tory austerity and their plan to cut £2.7 billion from the Scottish budget.

Instead, we will bring back the 50p tax rate for salaries over £150,000 and support employers who pay a Living Wage.

We want a growing economy that supports our public services and puts people first.

I reject the plans of the Tories and the SNP to cut tax for big business, which will see workers pay more and vital services cut.

Only Scottish Labour has a plan that will create a fairer economy, where those with the broadest shoulders support things that we all rely on, like schools, hospitals and the police.

And the cost of living crisis has hit households in Glasgow hard.

While the value of wages has fallen bills have gone up and we all can see this when our gas and electric bills drop through our letterboxes.

That is why Labour will take action.

That is why Labour will cap the price of energy bills to make sure bills can come down but not go up.

And during that time we will reform the broken energy market so that never again can customers be ripped off by the big 6 energy companies.

This is the real change Glasgow will get with a Labour Government.

Labour has a better plan for Glasgow.

But all that is at risk if the Tories end up being the largest party after the election.

Everyone knows the largest party gets to form the Government.

That is why we have to stop the Tories being the largest party.

That's the only way to stop a Tory Government.
