HAPPY New Year to you all and I hope you had a lovely festive period with your friends and family.

I can't believe it's all over for another year, so much so that I only plucked up enough courage to take my Christmas tree down yesterday.

I don't know why it was so much harder this year but I just felt I wasn't quite sick of the sight of my twinkling lights or my illuminated

snowman on my window.

I really shouldn't complain though as I had a gorgeous Christmas Day meal with all of my family at Mr Singhs restaurant in the city centre, the food and service was the absolute best I've ever received and that's truly saying something so thank you to all the staff who made our day so special.

Hogmanay was just spectacular at the world famous Club Noir and it was a real thrill for me to perform live on stage.

A special thanks needs to go to the unbelievably talented Mark Swift aka Cheri Treiffel who created the most beautiful gown I've ever worn, so much so that it was still on me at lunchtime the next day due to the fact I refused to get out of it after a few too many celebratory drams.

Yes I managed to send off 2014 in style but what will 2015 have in store?

Well based on the first seven days I'm not overly optimistic I have to say.

In the last week I've fallen ill to a thoroughly horrible hoarse throat and barking cough, I had my Facebook account disabled because apparently they didn't believe I was the real Michelle McManus so I actually had to submit a picture of my passport to have it reactivated and then I found myself plastered all over the press because some reality TV woman, who I've genuinely never heard of in my life, decided to describe me as the 'fat person living within in her' which lets face it is nothing short of creepy when you think about it.

Her name is Vicky and she stars in something called Geordie Shores which explains my confusion because on Twitter she calls herself Vicky Shores which I assumed was her surname and therefore referred to her as Vicky Shore in my response online, whoops.

Basically the story is that she seems to have lost an incredible amount of weight judging by her before shots which is a fantastic achievement however, she decided to make a joke that even though she was now super thin there was still a fat person, namely me, living inside her and trying desperately to get out.

It just baffles me completely that she herself who clearly at one point was overweight would use such a postive achievement to slag off another female who she's never met and knows nothing about?

Anyway in case anyone's wondering I am happy to confirm that I in fact do not dwell inside said Vicky Shore and I'm perfectly happy with my situation thank you very much.

So 2015 can only get better from here on in and with some unbelievable work lined up already including a theatre tour of my sell out one woman show I'm thinking it might just be another cracking 12 months for me, not too bad for a girl who was on one talent show 11 years ago and is still here to tell the tale.

In fact I think I might just set myself a little reminder eleven years into the future to 2024 to check up on how old Vicky Shore herself is getting on.

Thank you so much to everyone who has come along to the Pavilion Theatre over the past two months to see our panto Treasure Island.

I can't believe that in just over a weeks time it will all be over for another year.

The cast and crew have all had a ball and I'm delighted to tell you that fans favourite Johnny Mac has now launched his own website complete with 'I'm Enjoying Myself' merchandise.

Johnny has been described by numerous critics as the star of the show and I couldn't agree more.

An incredibly talented and lovely guy and I wish him every success.

You can keep up to date with all of Johnnys goings on by logging onto www.johnnymac.co.uk and for those of you who haven't seen our Panto yet now is your last chance.
