AS soon as I heard the lineup for this year's Celebrity Big Brother I decided that under no circumstances would I watch a single moment of it because of the allergic reaction I had to one or two of the housemates announced.

But after only 14 days I broke and on Tuesday night I finally came out from behind my sofa, took a deep breath and watched with my jaw on the ground as Katie Price saved her arch rival Katie Hopkins from eviction.

I found this utterly surreal as these are two women who have spent the last few years locked in a very public war of words over everything from obesity to baby names - when the former Apprentice star took to Twitter to slate Katie's choice of name for her brand new baby girl Bunny only just last year.

By all accounts though, none of the housemates behaviour can even hope to come close to lighting a torch to the celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, but the less said about him the better.

What has happened to the good old days of CBB where Les Dennis would pass the time having full blown conversations with the chickens in the garden and pint sized music legend Leo Sayer would blow the proverbial gasket over his lack of clean underwear in the diary room?

Say what you will about these types of shows but Celebrity Big Brother has provided us with our fair share of classic TV moments over the years because what else would you expect when you lock up a group of famous people with gigantic egos in a house for weeks on end?

Who could forget racing pundit John McCririck famous diet coke break when he refused to speak to anyone in the house (or wear clothes from what I can remember) because Big Brother refused to give him his beloved soft drinks? Then there was the toe curling moment George Galloway MP crawled up to Rula Lenska on the sofa and uttered those now immortal words "Would you like me to be the cat?" while wearing a red onesie that looked like it had been spray painted on.

Sitting firmly at the top spot of CBB greatest moments has to be back in 2005 when Jackie Stallone, dripping in fur and diamonds, made her entrance into the house with screams of, "Oh my God, Jackie" from her former daughter-in-law Brigitte Nielsen to which she calmly replied: "yeah, Jackie" through her collagen filled lips.

Yes CBB has certainly delivered on the entertainment stakes over the years and with the two Katies becoming BFF's overnight it's safe to say that anything is possible this series.

What this does mean is that I'm now sadly hooked and will have to start watching it every night or my nose will bother me.

If however, I start to fancy Calum Best feel free to assume I have finally lost my marbles and that my downward spiral into mid life crisis will have well and truly begun.

He is looking rather handsome though right?

I was so lucky to be invited to a special friends and family screening of comic book legend Mark Millar's latest movie Kingsman:The Secret Service in Glasgow starring Colin Firth, Samuel L Jackson and Michael Caine.

It's a wonderfully funny and I won't lie at points gore filled take on the world of spies and secret agencies with plenty of laugh out loud moments especially when Samuel L Jackson's lisping baddie dominates the screen.

Mark is genuinely one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and it's hard to remember sometimes just how

unbelievably talented and successful this man is as he's just so down to earth.

I'd like to think that might have something to do with the fact that he's a Coatbridge boy who went to the same high school as I did although he won't mind me saying I was a few years below him at St Ambrose.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Mark a couple of years ago on STV's The Hour when he told me a story of when he visited our old school back in 2003.

He was greeted with banners outside the main entrance of, "Welcome back," and, "We're all so proud of you," only to discover that they'd actually been for me as I had also visited the school earlier that morning during Pop Idol.

A sweet story and naturally my claim to fame that I've been dining out on ever since.

Thanks to a fantastically creative team at Millarworld Productions this movie looks set to be another smash hit for the gang and ladies if you thought Colin Firth was hot emerging for his dip in the lake at Pemberley wait to you see him in action in this movie.

Kingsman:The Secret Service opens across the UK on January 29, 2015.
