'Named' Scottish railway stations

1 South Beach:

One of three stations in Ardrossan and named after the beach on the Firth of Clyde.

2 Gilmour Street: It is the busiest of Paisley's four stations and named after one of its main thoroughfares.

3 Queen Margaret: One of two stations in Dunfermline, it takes its name from the nearby Queen Margaret Hospital.

4 Sunnyside: Coatbridge has six stations including Sunnyside, named after a part of the town.

5 Dunrobin Castle: The only station to serve a castle, it is built near the Duke of Sutherland's pile near Golspie.

6 Grahamston: One of three stations in Falkirk and named after a suburb of the town.

7 Fort Matilda: A station in Greenock named after a fort that served as a First World War garrison.

8 Milliken Park: The station in Johnstone was originally known as Cochrane Mill before being reopened in 1989.

9 Maxwell Park: In Pollokshields beside a park of the same name, the station building is B-listed.

10 IBM Halt: The IBM factory at Greenock has now closed but the station survives.
