1 Linlithgow Palace:
Home of all the Stewart monarchs, the palace was the birthplace of Mary.
2 Stirling Castle: She was only nine months old when crowned Queen of Scotland in the Chapel Royal.
3 Dumbarton Castle: Mary was sheltered in this castle on Dumbarton rock when she was an infant.
4 Inchmahome Priory: The monastery in Lake of Menteith was where Mary was brought to safety after the Battle of Pinkie.
5 Palace of Holyroodhouse: She married two of her husbands in the palace, the scene of the murder of her secretary David Rizzio.
6 Lochleven Castle: She was imprisoned in the Fife stronghold and forced to abdicate before escaping.
7 Falkland Palace: Also in Fife, she used it as a place to relax.
8 Edinburgh Castle: She gave birth to her son, James Vl, at the castle.
9 Rutherglen Castle: Where Mary met her troops before the battle of Langside, it was burned to the ground.
10 Mary Queen of Scots House: A museum detailing her life at Jedburgh in the Borders.
