2 Tiananmen Square: Chinese square famous for a protester standing in front of a tank in 1989.
3 Grand Place: Square in Brussels with some of the most detailed architecture in Europe.
4 Leicester Square: Square in the centre of London at the heart of the city's cinema land.
5 Wenceslas Square: In Prague, it is shaped like a boulevard and is named after the patron saint of Bohemia.
6 Place de la Concorde: The largest square in Paris, at the eastern end of the Champs Elysees.
7 George Square: Glasgow's civic centre, it was named after King George lll.
8 Dealey Plaza: Square in Dallas where President John F Kennedy was shot in 1963.
9 Plaza Mayor: Spectacular square in Madrid, which was built in the early 1600s.
10 Dam Square: In the centre of Amsterdam, it is named after a dam on the Amstel River.
