1 Bethlehem:
Jesus's birthplace, a Palestinian city located in the disputed West Bank.
2 Nazareth: His childhood home, it is known as the Arab Capital of Israel.
3 Joseph: Described in some gospels as the stepfather of Jesus and husband of his mother Mary.
4 Mary: Said to have conceived Jesus miraculously while she was waiting to marry Joseph.
5 Three Wise Men: Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar are said to have followed a star from the Middle East to Jesus' manger.
6 Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh: Gifts brought by the Magi thought to have been traditional in honouring a king.
7 King Herod: Said to have ordered the Massacre of the Innocents after hearing of Jesus' birth.
8 The Shepherds: Told by an angel of the birth of a "saviour" while they were tending their sheep.
9 Swaddling clothes: The practice of wrapping children tightly to restrict limb movement.
10 Star of Bethlehem: Said to have guided the Wise Men to the manger where Jesus lay.
