3 Les Harvey: The brother of Alex Harvey and lead singer with Stone the Crows, he died after touching a live mic.

4 Brian Robertson: From Clarkston, he was lead guitarist with Thin Lizzy during the 1970s.

5 Angus Young: He and brother Malcolm emigrated from Glasgow to Australia and formed AC/DC

6 Stuart Sutcliffe: Original bassist with the Beatles, he was born in Edinburgh and died aged 21.

7 John McGeoch: Greenock-born, he was guitarist with punk bands Siouxsie and the Banshees and Public Image Ltd.

8 Andy White: From Glasgow, he played drums on the album version of the Beatles hit Love Me Do.

9 Frankie Miller: The Bridgeton boy had his biggest hit with Darlin' before suffering a brain haemorrhage.

10 Midge Ure: Born in Cambuslang, he is best-known as lead singer with Ultravox.
