3 Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds by the Beatles: The BBC reckoned it was about drugs.

4 Leader Of The Pack by the Shangri-Las: Refused airplay because of its death theme content.

5 God Save The Queen by the Sex Pistols: The Beeb felt this was an "assault on the Queen".

6 Eve Of Destruction by Barry McGuire: Classic anti-Vietnam anthem was put on a restricted list.

7 Ebony Eyes by the Everly Brothers: A song about a young man who lost his fiancee in a plane crash.

8 Lola by the Kinks: Once the offending product reference to Coca-Cola was replaced by Cherry Cola, the group were free to sing on the Beeb.

9 Love To Love You Baby by Donna Summer: The BBC didn't like the way the Queen of Disco sang the song and banned it.

10 St Therese of the Roses by Malcolm Vaughan: Censors declared "the lyric is contrary both to Roman Catholic doctrine and to Protestant sentiment".
