GLASGOW will never forget the shocking events which stunned the world a year ago when a police helicopter plunged through the roof of the Clutha bar, killing 10 people.

Over the past 10 days the Evening Times has featured a series of heartbreaking stories from families, survivors and emergency crews as well as honouring those who did their best to help.

The weekend of commemorations marked the first anniversary of the disaster- a painful one for the families who have lost loved ones and the many survivors who still bear the physical and mental scars of that terrible night.

But Glasgow made sure they were not alone in their grief as hundreds, including dignitaries, politicians and the emergency services, who lost three of their own, were united in an emotional tribute at Glasgow Cathedral.

The remarkable people of this fine city also paid their respects to those who died by laying floral tributes outside the bar and taking part in a minute's silence at 10.22pm with the emergency services.

They also came out in their droves to support the Clutha Trust concert at the Barrowlands organised by Clutha owner Alan Crossan.
