GLASGOW was the centre of the sporting world during the summer and now it is the turn of pop music to come and party in the city.
The Hydro once again showed its versatility. In the space of a few months it has gone from a stunning gymnastics and boxing venue to playing host to one of the biggest events in pop music with the MTV Europe Awards.
With a run of sell-out Still Game stage shows in between it really can do it all.
The MTV awards are sought after by cities all over the continent and bringing them here is a coup for Glasgow and its relentlessly hard working marketing team.
The city has achieved great success in business tourism as a conference destination for many years now, but with new venues and greater capacity it is moving to another level.
The business generated and the exposure the city gets from these big ticket events is worth millions to our economy, keeping people in jobs and boosting the reputation of Glasgow around the world.
After hosting a stunning star studded show last night Glasgow is once again top of the charts.
