City on track for best ever Games

HOSTING an international event on the scale of the Commonwealth Games is no ordinary task.

Hosting a Games like the one Glasgow is in the middle of is nothing short of remarkable.

The venues have been superb, with Hampden looking like it catered for nothing but athletics, Kelvingrove in picture postcard splendour and the Tollcross pool announcing its arrival as an international name to be reckoned with, just like Scots gold winner Ross Murdoch.

The venues all look full with ticketing having gone smoothly when it mattered and people getting around the city, with a few problems being addressed when they arise.

Glasgow has risen to the challenge and the people have welcomed the world with a smile allowing our visitors to enjoy the sport, the entertainment, hospitality and even the sunshine.

The Games have been seven years in the planning and now we are halfway through the action, the athletes have exceeded expectations breaking Scotland's medal tally record and delivering inspirational performances.

In the arena and away from the action, Glasgow and Scotland has shown the world what this city is capable of and what it's people are made of.
