WHEN families find themselves in financial difficulties one of the added problems is not knowing where to turn for help.

The Income Maximisers project has been successful in sending people in the right direction and put them in touch with cash totalling millions of pounds.

Poor health and poverty often go hand in hand and help with one can also provide help with the other, which makes the scheme even more crucial.

Without it, as the financial circumstances worsen. then so do any health issues, which limits the ability to work and get back on an even keel.

The project led by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is an example of the co-ordinated approach that is required to help people, whether in immediate need or in long term preventative work.

Even in these days of savage welfare cuts there are still a host of funds available to people that not everyone is aware of.

The more people can be matched with these funds the better, it is their entitlement and cash unclaimed is a missed opportunity for people to get help.
