WITH less than 200 days to go until the Commonwealth Games begin, Glasgow is almost ready for the biggest international sporting event in its history.

The venues are nearly complete and the athletes are entering the final stages of their preparations as they bid for medal glory for Scotland.

The public is playing its part too, with the volunteer Clyde-siders preparing to take up their posts to ensure the spectators, athletes and officials have the best possible time when in the city.

The auditions for the opening ceremony is another opportunity for people to participate and be a part of history, when Glasgow puts on the show beamed to television screens around the world.

The plans for Scotland House means the businesses and public officials looking to capitalise on the commercial opportunities will have a central base for their activities to woo investment and jobs to Glasgow and Scotland.

The Games are edging ever closer and as our reports today show there is something going on that as many people as possible can get involved in.

When the world watches the opening ceremony in July it will see Glasgow is ready and is a vibrant, and truly inspiring international city.
