OVER the years the Evening Times has campaigned on many important issues, from urging communities to help clear up our streets to calling for change to organ donation legislation.
But one of our most poignant appeals has been our Brick by Brick fundraising drive for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
Hearing the individual stories of families whose loved ones were looked after in the hospice touches all our lives as we in turn remember our own lost family and friends.
Young people, such as 12-year-old Bobbi MacIntyre, who was devastated when her gran Mary Ashmead died of cancer five years ago, often need more support when they are faced with bereavement.
It is thanks to the help of groups such as the hospice' Butterfly Project that Bobbi, and others like her, are able to talk about their grief and move on from it.
The importance of hospice care is also highlighted in our story about the opening of the £4million Kilbryde Hospice.
We must show our support to the facilities that care for us in our last days.
