THE titles just keep on rolling in for Nicola Sturgeon in what has been a momentous week for the Glasgow MSP.
First she is elected as SNP leader, then she becomes First Minister and now she has taken the Scottish Politician of the Year award.
Last week, the Evening Times published a series highlighting the strong, determined Glasgow women who had made their mark in politics over the last century.
Ms Sturgeon has already ensured she has a place in that illustrious list and she has a fantastic opportunity to advance the cause of equality for women, perhaps even more than any of the others we featured.
As she takes up her post, we would like to offer the Evening Times columnist our congratulations and our very best wishes in her role in the future leading the Scottish Government.
Now that the ceremonies are over and the formalities completed we know she will now be looking forward with relish to tackling the many issues and problems the country and this city faces.
As her first day showed, she will not be short of challenges and our advice to her is simple: Get stuck in.
