Show your support for the Baton Bearers

WHEN the Queen's Baton comes to Glasgow in July the city will be in the grip of Commonwealth Games fever.

For three days it will be carried across the city by people from all walks of life representing the city and playing a part in the biggest sporting spectacle to hit town.

Each has been chosen for their achievements and commitment to their community so it is not surprising that River Clyde rescuer George Parsonage is one of the Baton Bearers.

The baton has been travelling across the Commonwealth generating excitement and enthusiasm for the Games and celebrating the international links that characterise the Commonwealth Games.

When it finally reaches its destination of Celtic Park for the opening ceremony it will mark the start of a fantastic two weeks of sport in this city.

The Baton Relay is all about promoting inclusiveness and spreading the spirit of the games.

When it passes through the city carried by those with a story to tell and who are being thanked for their contribution to Glasgow it is an opportunity to turn out and give the Baton Bearers encouragement and show our support and thanks for their dedication.

Then the action starts and the games begin.
