GLASGOW is world-renowned for the spirit and generosity of her people.
Last night's Evening Times Community Champion Awards again showed just why the city is so famously friendly and caring.
From all walks of life and all ages, our celebration aims to showcase and reward the unsung heroes working to make their communities better places to live.
It is with great pride that the Evening Times hosts fundraisers, carers, charity workers and community activists at our local awards ceremonies.
They respresent all the values this paper aims to uphold - and they make the city a better place for everyone.
Each year we are flooded with entrants for the prize, showing just what a wealth of kindness and hard work there is across the city.
Of course, not everyone nominated can be winners on the night.
But everyone who is shortlised for a Community Champion Award is worthy of the top title.
For their determination in the face of adversity - whether it be hardship, poverty or disability -should make us all proud to come from this great city.
