Their concerns about the future stability of their homes, values and insurance issues are all valid and pressing concerns that demand the attention of the council and Scottish Water.
What needs to be done however is a full investigation of the drainage in the area to ensure the remedial action taken is appropriate and effective.
This will take time and both agencies have committed to uncovering the exact reason for the flooding and have raised other issues of blocked drains as well as the impact of the removal of trees.
Hopefully the issues will be identified and rectified as soon as possible, but the residents are right to press for swift and prioritised action.
In return there needs to be a degree of patience to allow for the investigation to be concluded and the plan of action to be put in place and executed.
The council and Scottish Water must keep the residents informed of their actions and give them every opportunity to raise concerns while work continues.
Hopefully in the near future the problem will be resolved and residents' return to normal life.
