We would like to say a huge thank you to Janis Marshall-Reilly, Gordon Barr and the whole cast and crew of 'Bard in the Botanics' for the free community tickets for their fantastic production of Henry V.
Ten of our members enjoyed a truly magical summer night watching this wonderful drama. For some it was their first ever Shakespeare and a beautiful, funny, dramatic and moving introduction to the Bard
The backdrop of such a beautiful venue only added to the experience.
Congratulations and many thanks to such a talented and committed cast and crew.

Beeb baffled
I feel so proud of our athletes and the fantastic support they are getting, but I am angry with the usual Beeb commentators and their lack of any knowledge about the host nation.
At the swimming, they had a wee laugh to themselves live on air re the quaich - admitting to not knowing what it was - stating it was "some kind of trinket".
Glasgow and Scotland have worked hard to host these super games and yet they make a mockery of our traditional Scottish drinking vessel .

Towering idiocy
re. Glasgow Tower.
What is it with this tower? It just seems to stagger from one crisis to another.
I wonder what the bill for this embarrassing structure. I suspect that whoever designed couldn't walk and talk at the same time, as that would have seriously challenged their grey matter.
