WHILST I applaude Glasgow City Council in their efforts to stamp out blue badge fraud, when will Glasgow City Council and indeed, the Scottish Government turn their attention to the drivers who park in disabled spaces and don't display a badge of any kind.

They are just as despicable as the fraudulent badge holders.

HAVING just read Johnny Mack's suggestion of a draconian reduction in the M8 speed limits, perhaps it would be more appropriate to target the dithering incompetents of which Johnny sounds like a paid up member. If anything, the 50mph urban limit needs re-evaluating, especially on the nearby M74 where the traffic police have a field day, every day. Stephen Skiba, via email

DRUMCHAPEL shopping centre is a joke. We haven't had a proper shopping centre for years. Although there is a vast population and masses of children, people always have to travel. There are no children's or adults clothes or shoe shops. It seems all we have are food shops - at least we won't starve.

THE continued expansion of St Aloysius private school, in Garnethill is excessive. This private school provides no access to most of the local community, including the local schools. St Aloysius just increases the divide in our city between rich and poor. The pupils' individual journey to school, usually in large people carriers, with one parent and one small child, from across the city, causes major traffic congestion in this residential area. Endangering the walk to school for many local children to Garnetbank Primary. Garnethill need social housing and better community facilities and l wish them all the best in their campaign.

I'VE had a few near misses as I cycle through the traffic at Darnley Primary School and St Angela's Primary School. Nine out of 10 times it is certain types who cause the issues by stopping in the middle of the road and either letting their kids out or picking them up and failing to adhere to the highway code. Most of these people can walk their kids to school or use public transport.
