I ASKED John Swinney in November 2014 what was the total cost of the two year referendum campaign for Scottish Independence and also the same question to Nicola Sturgeon at a later date.

During the following months up to the present time I received five emails from members of their staff telling me that I would get the information as soon as possible I am still waiting.

So much for their open government.

STUDENT flat accommodation is getting ridiculous. Student accommodation proposed for Cathedral Stree, the former McDonald's furnishings building being, also St James's Road as well as St Mungo Avenue. Kennedy Street, Townhead is turning into a campus, and just recently I heard the building in Martha Street (old marriage, birth registry) is also to become student accommodation.

What's going on here.

WHY more student flats in the city centre? There is lots of vacant land all over the city that flats could be built on.

REGARDING the your City Deal article earlier this week it said last year, senior politicians signed the £1.13billion City Deal for Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

Where in the article is there any mention of money being spent in "surrounding areas." Looks like a City of Glasgow carve up by the City of Glasgow ruling Labour Party.

I WAS truly saddened to read about the death of former Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy. He always seemed to be a politician for the people. He had very rare qualities and seemed genuine. It is true that politics will be a duller place without him.

I HAVE just witnessed a quiet street in the South Side totally converted to a no parking area. Double yellow lines have been painted along the street close to the Squinty Bridge. I understand that it is near a concert venue and some people may well park there from time to time, but we are driving people out of our city and discouraging anyone from bring a car in.

It all seems to be about banning cars these days - love to see the shops' economy grow with this policy.
