SURELY it's about time that Glasgow City Council ditched the limo trips for local dignitaries.

Many people have voiced their objection to this outdated elitism which is a backdrop from a bygone era, especially in a city

that has to use foodbanks to feed it's poor.

With the local government elections not that far away maybe the party in power should take notice.

I WATCHED Nicola Sturgeon on a chat show in the USA and it made me sick. I voted SNP with the hope that things would get better. The new Southern Glasgow hospital is a let down. I worked there in the 50s and it was a great place to work in. I was born there in 1940 and worked as a nurse there.

It is now a shambles. The closure if the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Western Infirmary is a death sentence. I have many illnesses which need treatment but may be too late in getting there. I voted for SNP but now regret it. I have many illnesses which require admission but will have to get to the new campus on time which is impossible.

I prefer to vote for the enemy if I live so long. Cut the comedy Ms Sturgeon and get back here and do what we elected you for. Playtime is over.

I HAVE every sympathy for the family whose dad had a long wait to get to hospital and then had to hang around on a trolley at the new South Glasgow hospital.

However, can we just take a moment and think about this. If you move house you are in disarray for weeks. The health board has moved ward after ward from several hospitals.

It will take time for thing to work, but I for one am pleased we have this new facility. Within a few months we will soon realise that we have a fantastic asset on our doorstep.

REGARDS the story on how long the Egyptian Halls can last, is it only £5 Million they needed from the lottery? Surely for such an iconic building Glasgow City Council could put it's hand in it's pocket, after all it does so for City Parking year after year with no prospect of a return.
