GLASGOW City Council recently announced a possible £100 million in cuts.

A few weeks ago the council secured £1 billion for the city deal initiative.

Can the politicians both at the chambers, Scottish Parliament and west minster not communicate with each other, to ensure money is spent wisely?

The people who suffer are both the employees and citizens of Glasgow and not the politicians.

More buses

IN response to Alastair Watson's comments about devolving transport powers, in Tuesday's Evening Times, I agree about the buses having to consult with the local communities.

Greenfield in the East End is poorly served. When talking to people about buses in my area, they assume I live in the sticks.

Only one bus in and out of town every hour on a Sunday.

Going to work on a weekend we have to walk to either Shettleston on Edinburgh Road because they don't start until 9.30am on the weekends.

Getting home during the week, the last bus leaves town at 11:33pm, meaning more often than not you miss the bus.

Even when the buses are meant to run normal, they are forever turning up three to five minutes early.

Needs more done to improve the service.

'Third world'

So Gordon Matheson thinks he has done well for Glasgow? (Evening Times, Monday)

Has he ever walked through the city centre where you are tripping over beggars on every street?

You cannot use an auto teller without some foreigner pleading for some of your money.

It is like a third world city at the weekends and particularly threatening for lone females.

Well done

Well done the Graffiti Team at City of Glasgow city council who removed the ugly graffiti from the lovely old walls and utility boxes on Rhannan Road within days of me reporting it on the website.

Excellent work!

Happy birthday

What a lovely story about Rangers' oldest season ticket holder getting a special reception at Ibrox for his 100th birthday on Tuesday.

Congratulations to Mark Warburton for making John Connelly's day.

It's nice to know the club can make an effort to thank its dedicated fans. I hope John enjoyed his day.
