IN YOUR OPINION
WHAT a disgrace that Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop should even consider funding an event which is one of the most profitable events in the Scottish calendar - ie T in the Park. (Evening Times, Monday).
Perhaps Fiona can tell me where the culture is in a booze fuelled weekend costing spectators more than £100 each and requiring the police force to be out in force.
Come on Nicola, “demand” this money back.

Shocking treatment
IN relation to the story about the care home nurse struck off (Evening Times yesterday), I saw a lot of this sort of neglect but nothing was done.
I once reported some hospital workers with the same attitude as this man.
I worked in a home and saw lot of neglect.
It’s horrible the way some old people are treated.

Visible taxis
WITH reference to the story about the woman attacked when she took a bogus private hire car (Evening Times, Tuesday),this shows another case for all private hire vehicles to be more recognisable.
Apart from two small trade plates and a small sticker on each front car doors, private hire cars should have the name of the company they work for along the side of the cars also, not just a flimsy sticker on the rear window.

Better signs
PRIVATE hire cars should be allowed more signage on them because at the end of the day people’s safety is more important.
Joe Public should only use licensed cabs, whether is black cabs or private hire.

Safety paramount
AS a taxi driver, unfortunately people at the end of the night are only interested in getting home at night.
My company always texts the person giving the make model and registration number. It’s better to wait for a taxi than just jump into a random taxi (or one looking like a taxi).
No honest private hire taxi driver will just pick up off the street as we are not allowed to. Pre book or get a black cab, be safe.
