THERE are some stories you read that leave a lasting impression and the running sisters, Evening Times on Friday, did just that for me.

Speaking out about their cancer journey was very moving.

One Anita Neilson to through cancer and then her sister Martina, it is more than any family should have to go through.

To think that they are now both running the Paisley 10K is a truly inspirational.

It makes mention of the bold move Angelina Jolie made to go public after she had a double mastectomy. While there are times when I really can't be bothered with the celebrity world and all the nonsense that goes with it, Jolie's story has undoubtedly helped bring the subject to the fore and she is one celebrity who has put her status to good use.

I STARTED off my working life on a YTS back in the 80's whilst living in Cranhill high rise flats, when the 1 year was up I was offered a full time position which led to further promotions within that job. My self confidence grew and I then became self employed and ended up creating a company several years later that turned over £2m per year and employing 36 people....the rest is history!

The government is trying out all these different money wasting schemes to get young people into work but why not look back at the successes of the YTS and implement that again as that worked for me and many many of my friends who now have very successful careers. The youth only need a chance and some belief.

WHAT a heartwarming tale about Angus the Bucket List dog. It must be very sad for his owners knowing he only has weeks to live.

How nice that the Snow Factor team allowed him to fulfill one of his dreams.

I REALLY do feel for cyclists now if they are going over the Squinty Bridge. Last week there was four in a row trying to negotiate passage across but there is really nowhere for them to go.

To me it just does not make sense that the bridge was redesigned for Fastlink and didn't take into account all road users.

I thought we were trying to promote cycling around the city, but this doesn't seem to be the best way to go about it.
