REGARDING the name change for Glasgow’s new hospital, I don’t see what the fuss is about.

It used to be called the Southern General (SGH). They renamed it the South Glasgow University Hospital (SGUH)

It is now on the campus of the South Glasgow Hospitals (SGH) so it is still the SGH and will remain the “Southern” to most people.

Ban the abusers

ABUSE to rail staff is not acceptable.

They should consider doing what the airlines do and ban anyone found guilty of abuse from ALL train travel and protect both staff and the public alike.

Two-way street

IN no way, do I support attacks on staff anywhere, not just train and Subway staff.

However, I am also very aware of the apparent lengths some train staff can go to, to provoke members of the public.

Every morning at my local station, we have four people checking the validity of tickets while one sells them.

I questioned this one day and was abused by staff. When I asked for a manager, the man leaned over the railing to call for police.

Lack of leadership

USUAL waffle about zero tolerance and staff dignity, but there is no leadership or backbone to implement any measures to effectively stamp it out completely.

Move on

Why can’t the “yes” campaigners accept they lost and get on with life instead of banging the drum ?(Letters, 2/9/15)

How would they react if they had won and the “no” campaigners wanted a “retrial”?

I believed that Nicola Sturgeon was the “shining light” to take Scotland forward but it seems I was wrong!. She continually sits on the proverbial fence on many issues, especially another referendum vote.

I only hope she does the honourable thing to be fair to all and asks the country “IF” they want another referendum vote, and state, preferably within the next two months when these votes will take place.

Done deal

Would somebody please tell the letter writer in Tuesday’s Evening Times, that the Scottish people have already decided on independence.

It was 55 no, 45 yes. Maybe they are not very good at arithmetic.
