Nicola Sturgeon accuses the Prime Minister of a "walk-on-by attitude" towards Syrian refugees. This is totally unfair. Three years ago, David Cameron was calling for us to help Syrian rebels defeat the murderous dictator Bashar al-Assad. Nicola Sturgeon opposed this. Many massacres followed and the diminished Syrian rebels were soon joined and replaced by Islamic State. Their atrocities are now well-known and David Cameron wants us to eradicate these vicious terrorists. Ms Sturgeon opposes this too. Instead, our First Minister wants those having to flee Assad and IS to head for Britain in their thousands. Does she not realise that this will be a green light to the people smugglers, that the problem will mushroom, and that yet more innocent people will suffocate and drown??

Please do all you can to pressure the government to do more to help the refugees. The people of Britain have a reputation for caring for those in troubled situations. These people are fleeing from war zones and have walked for miles to reach a place of safety, sometimes with small children and desperately need our help.

The drink culture is well established as we all know. But, how about subsidised "Community Safety Cafes" to compliment our Night Zone Marshalled Taxi Ranks.

Alcohol free zones where we could go safely. To chill out. Instead of the only places open late being pubs or restaurants with an alcohol licence.

Lets see sobriety given more of a push and cut down on drunkenness, fights, unnecessary arrests and hospital treatments.

I SEE another new hotel will be built along the Clyde. From the images this one looks like it will become a new landmark along the riverside.

It's about time we built more homes along the river as well and make new communities rather than just blocks of retail and hotels.

I HAVE really enjoyed the Evening Times series marking the Queen becoming the longest reigning monarch. No matter whether you are a royalist or not, you can't take away from the fact that she is nearly 90 and is still carrying out around 400 engagements a year. Well done and enjoy your day.
